4 Tips for Generating Leads with Your Website

As a business, you’re always looking to generate leads. There are many different methods you can use to grow your audience and increase sales, but one of the most effective ways to win over consumers is with your website’s homepage. These few tips are sure to help you advance your website to boost engagement and generate more leads!

  • Make your Heading and Subheading Pop
    When you visit a website, what is the first thing you look at? Often it’s the heading and subheading. The header is typically a short sentence that summarizes your brand, and the subheading is usually a couple sentences that includes the company’s value proposition.

    If the company’s webpage is unclear and doesn’t explicitly say what the company is or how it can help users, visitors are likely to leave. On the other hand, if the company takes the time to craft a quality heading and subheading, visitors are much more likely to stay and even subscribe to an email list. For your value proposition, you’ll want to emphasize the target audience you’re focusing on, the benefits customers will experience from using your product or service, and how your product will help customers achieve those benefits. 
  • Add a Video
    Videos are extremely powerful when it comes to engaging users on your website. Because video content is easier to consume, adding a simple clip to your homepage can lead to more signups, sales, and engagement. You can use a video to highlight certain product benefits, or include a tutorial explaining how to use the product. Whatever you choose to promote, you can also use it to connect with your users by encouraging them to join your email list or follow you on social media at the end of the video. This way, you are more likely to engage your users on other platforms as well. 
  • Display Testimonials
    Testimonials are also great for generating new leads, as social proof is one of the biggest ways to boost customer trust. You should include these reviews on your homepage, as users will see what other people think of your product or services right away, and then can decide to keep looking into your products or services.

    Put yourself in the customer’s shoes. If you land on a site without any customer reviews, you're probably a lot less likely to purchase from that site. But, if you land on a site that has glowing reviews on the homepage, chances are you're going to keep looking into that site, as other people seem to find it helpful too.  
  • Ask for Email Addresses
    Even if your homepage has it all, people may still want to look more into other places where they can find information about your company, including social media pages, blogs, and other online reviews. Most customers are not ready to buy right away if they have heard little to nothing about your company, so a solution could be to connect with customers and show more of yourself to them through email marketing. On your homepage, you’ll want to include an incentive for users to sign up with their email address. With a visually appealing call-to-action that matches the needs of consumers, you’ll see a sharp increase in new leads.
